The day, module by module

This class is built around the AI tasks a Scrum Master or team coach runs most. It is not one-on-one coaching. Every module ends with something you made from your own work. 300 of the day's 390 minutes are hands-on, on your own material.

How you earn it

Attendance does not earn the credential. Your own work does.

What you hand in

Within 14 days of class you hand in one piece of work built on your own material, with anything confidential stripped out. It has three parts. First, three impediments from your own log, each rewritten so it would get escalated, shown as before-and-after pairs. Second, a design for your next retrospective, built from patterns you pulled out of the notes from your last three. Third, the one thing in this work you would not let AI do, and what happens if it did. Your hand-in uses one fixed template with six sections in a fixed order: cover note, your prompts, the raw AI output, your final version, your list of what you changed and why, and your note on what you kept AI away from. A hand-in missing a section comes back unmarked, and that return does not count as your attempt. If your employer will not let you bring real material, a practice set we supply stands in and is marked the same way. Your work goes to a marker who did not teach the class and does not see your name or your employer. It is marked against the four checks below and returned inside 10 working days. A pass is Pass or Strong on all four.

Judgment

Not yet: an AI draft handed in as your own work with no edits, whatever else you hand in. Also Not yet: you made changes, but your list of what you changed and why is generic and could be pasted onto anyone's work, or the list does not match the real differences between the raw output and your final version. Pass: you changed the AI output in at least three places and gave a reason for each that names something specific in that output. Strong: Pass, and at least one entry records a change the output did not ask for. The model produced something that looked right, you rejected it for a reason only you had, and you wrote that reason down.

Specificity

Not yet: a generic example that could belong to anyone, or real material with so much stripped out for confidentiality that nothing is left to judge. Pass: the work is about your own named work, or the practice set we supply, declared on your cover note, and it carries counts, dates and roles. Strong: Pass, and at least one count or date is tied to a consequence that changes what the reader would do next.

Boundary awareness

Not yet: you name nothing you kept AI away from, or you name only a broad category, such as anything confidential, with no consequence attached. Pass: you name at least one thing you would not let AI do in this task, and what happens if it gets that wrong. Strong: Pass, and the line you drew sits at a specific step inside this task. A line drawn around a whole topic earns Pass, not Strong. Your note also says who picks up that decision and what they need in order to make it.

Reusability

Not yet: no prompt handed in, or the prompt does not match the output you handed in, or it only works with context from a chat session nobody else can see. Pass: another Scrum Master or team coach could pick up the prompt and get similar output, and the prompt is stamped with the model, the version and the date. Strong: Pass, and the prompt carries its check line (what to check before you use the output) and says what to do when the input is thin, so the next person can tell how the output fails as well as how to run it.

How it is issued

You attend the one-day live class, then hand in work built on your own impediment log and retrospective notes within 14 days of the class. A person who did not teach the class marks it against the marking guide published on this page. The marker checks four things, and each gets one of three results: Not yet, Pass, or Strong. A pass is Pass or Strong on all four. The credential can be failed. If any of the four lands in Not yet, you get written feedback and one free chance to hand it in again inside 14 days of the mark.

Issued by the American School of AI. Delivered by our authorized training providers. The school writes the standard (what you have to show), has every hand-in marked by a person who did not teach the class, and prints a Certificate ID on every credential it issues.

Anyone can confirm the credential on the Verify a Credential page by entering the Certificate ID printed on the certificate. The credential is for life. There is no renewal fee and nothing to keep up.

Who is the Certified AI Team Facilitator for?

Scrum Masters and team coaches who already run retrospectives, stand-ups and impediments for a team. There is no prerequisite.

Who issues the credential, and who teaches the class?

The American School of AI writes the standard, has every hand-in marked by a person who did not teach the class, and issues the credential with a printed Certificate ID. It does not run classes.

How is it marked?

After class you hand in your work, built on your own material: three impediments rewritten so they get escalated, and a retrospective designed from patterns across your last three. It uses the six-part template described above.

What if I do not pass?

Your work is due 14 days after the class and comes back marked inside 10 working days. If any of the four checks lands in Not yet, you get written feedback and one free chance to hand it in again inside 14 days of the mark.

How long is the credential valid?

For life. There is no renewal fee.
